How it all began
It all began back in 2012 when Brea moved into suite 203 of the historic Dwelly Building in downtown Everett, WA. The suite was anything but sweet – old, stained royal blue commercial carpeting, a non-functional kitchen space, and blah beige walls… but THE LIGHT.
With six oversized windows and soaring, albeit crooked, ceilings, the light is what made the space special, and what still makes it special today.
the first renovation
As soon as keys were in hand, Brea and her consorts got to work to make the space as functional as possible for the least amount of money they could. The royal blue carpet was stripped, sub-floor sanded down, and painted with white porch paint. The South wall was painted a solid white and the remaining walls painted in kitschy light blue stripes. The exposed brick remained as it was: perfectly white.
The studio was ready for clients – and oh, did clients come!
The second renovation
After just over 2 years, in 2014, the painted white sub-floor had outlived its practicality, and ability to be cleaned. So, with the help of studio-mates, husbands, and friends, Brea and crew laid laminate flooring, installed molding, painted doors, and made the dysfunctional kitchenette a little less dysfunctional with a custom made dark wood plank island. New, white chandeliers were also installed which really helped elevate the space.
Agostina moved into the studio space in 2016 and her eye for detail and design starting leading to more and more small changes and organization. Until…
the third renovation
Those kitschy blue stripes? They had to GO. Oh, and that weird kitchen area where the oven didn’t work. And the sink. Might as well do the faucet, too!
2019 brought us to the biggest overhaul of the space to date. It was time for a complete facelift with a carefully curated plan to elevate the space into a place that sold itself and made beautiful imagery seamless. We wanted to provide a space where businesses thrive and grow via gorgeous, jaw dropping, marketing material.
Enter a Portola Paints lime wash treated wall. A brand new kitchenette area complete with new sink, fixtures, pulls, painted cabinetry, and another custom wood plank counter. The entire space was painted top to bottom. Every closet, drawer, and cabinet was gutted to make way only for things that were functional or beautiful. We cut the fat on everything to make way for inspiring creative vision in our guests.
While this third reno is still underway, we’ve come so far and are ready to delight guests starting NOW.
We are so thankful for all the help and support we’ve received along the way!
